Jim & Geri in Britain

Great Britain
Day 11 - Sunday, 18 May 1997

After breakfast we drove into Keswick to do our laundry. We also found a place where we could send our first e-mail report to the folks back home. Once back at Stoneycroft we spent the day resting, petting the cats, reading the paper and listening to the lambs bleat.

For dinner we went back into Keswick and bought some meat pies at a pastry shop then ate them while leaning against a building, watching the people go by. Back at Stoneycroft, we watched our first British TV. "Savage Skies" was a kind of Nova production about storms and "McLibel" was about McDonald's lawsuit against some European ecologists. They had blamed McDonald's use of beef for the destruction of rain forests in Brazil.
