Travels with Jim & Geri: Western Turkey

April 2 - 16 1998
We spent April 2-16, 1998 touring Western Turkey with stops in Istanbul, Ankara, Hittusas, Cappadocia, Konya, Antalya, Pamukkale, and Kusadasi (Didyma/Miletus/Efesus).
The guided part of our tour began at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 4 when we met our guide, Meli Seval, and the 22 other members of our tour group. Before it was over we were all in awe of Turkey and Meli's knowledge of the history of and her passion for her country.
The trip will be documented here from two perspectives. The first is the text of the communal journal kept by the members of the tour group. The second is our personal journal of the trip.
